Features
  • The AC 450‑7 features six cameras that keep everything in view. With the help of a computer-assisted diagram, this makes it possible to graphically show the possible extension lengths for the outriggers and the counterweight tailswing radius on the display in the carrier cab. This makes it significantly easier to position the crane at job sites. And Demag Surround View also helps on the way to the site by making it easier for crane operators to notice pedestrians and cyclists when turning.
  • Demag is using its new engineering design for the Sideways Superlift system for the first time ever on the AC 450‑7. This new design is a decisive enhancement to the well-known Demag SSL solution. The Superlift arms are now mounted all the way in the front, on the head of the base section, meaning that they are ultimately longer and accordingly well-suited to larger lifting capacities. And while on the subject of lifting capacities, this means that the AC 450‑7 is considerably superior to other seven-axle cranes – in fact, it even leaves some eight-axle units behind in a number of boom positions. The functionality and handling have been improved as well. In fact, the new design only requires one single wire rope line for the connection between the main boom head and the SSL arm. In addition, the SSL arms are pinned hydraulically on the main boom, which reduces manual work for securing the arms and the associated work at height.
  • With its fully telescoped 80-m main boom, the AC 450‑7 reaches lifting capacities of up to 23.7 t. If the main boom’s length is not sufficient, it can, for example, be extended with a luffing jib with a maximum length of 81 meters. The crane’s maximum system length is 132 meters. The luffing jib can be “divided up” in three-meter segments from 24 to 81 meters. But that is not all: In addition to the luffing jib, Demag also offers configuration options for a fixed extension, and even a runner.
  • IC‑1 Remote allows for efficient, data-assisted crane and fleet management in which both the location and all the operating conditions of the AC 450‑7 are visible: From the load weight on the hook during an operation to the main boom length, complete with boom angle and wind speed data, to the fuel level and the oil and coolant levels including temperatures. And all this from anywhere, provided a web browser is available.
  • The popular IC‑1 Plus control system ensures that the maximum available lifting capacity can always be used with the AC 450‑7. This control system determines the crane’s lifting capacity for every boom position as a function of the superstructure’s slewing angle in real time. This means that the maximum available lifting capacity can be used with any outrigger configuration, including asymmetrical ones. And with the integrated lifting capacity radar, crane operators always have the working range reliably in sight.
  • With a carrier length of 15.99 m, a total length of 17.62 m, and an outrigger base of 8.45 m, the AC 450‑7 does not take up more space than a six-axle crane at the job site. However, it offers significantly larger lifting capacities and a longer main boom that comes in at 80 m. All seven axles on the AC 450‑7 are steered, and four of them are driven. This makes the crane so maneuverable that it can handle tight work sites at least as well as a six-axle model.

  • Thanks to its innovative IC-1 Plus control system, the Demag AC 250-5 can even handle lifts that are normally the exclusive job of larger cranes. The system is designed to calculate the crane’s lifting capacity for every position of the boom subject to the slewing angle of the superstructure, in real time. This means that the lifting capacity for a specific radius is no longer limited to the lowest value for a pre-calculated 360° lifting capacity, as used to be the case. Instead, the crane can always take full advantage of the maximum available lifting capacity. This advantage is particularly useful when it comes to lifts requiring an asymmetric outrigger setup.
  • The Demag AC 250-5 is designed to help keep your operating costs down. To this end, many of the Demag 5-axle cranes’ components are interchangeable – from hoist 2, through the main boom extensions and runner, all the way to the swing-away rooster sheaves and heavy-lift attachment. This makes work easier for your service technicians and lowers your inventory costs.
  • Its clever axle load distribution makes the Demag AC 220-5 truly roadworthy, as it remains under an axle load limit of 12 tonnes even with a payload of up to 550 kilograms. In other words: For many jobs, it requires less additional transport, thus reducing the costs associated with it. Moreover, the crane can be quickly set up on-site, as it already carries everything it needs to get working.
