New Holland

From One Man’s Repair Shop To An International Manufacturer

In 1895, Abe Zimmerman opened the New Holland Machine Company as a machine repair shop in New Holland, Pennsylvania. It would grow through the years to introduce numerous innovations in the agriculture industry, including the first automatic self-tie baler, mower-conditiner, and twin rotor combine. On the construction side, they created their first backhoe loader in 1966, setting a new standard for construction equipment made in the United States. In 1986, Ford acquired New Holland, and in 1991 Fiat aquired Ford New Holland. Since then, New Holland has focused on innovation and sustainability that do not sacrifice efficiency. In recent years, they have introduced autonomous tractors and set world records with their harvesters, and they continue to push the agriculture industry forward into the future.
